Saturday we will be hosting The Wheelmen, a group that preserves the history of the antique bicycles. They will be hosting a memorabilia meet in our museum Saturday March 23, 2013. It is a free day for the museum, open to the public with extended hours from 9AM – 4PM.
Weather permitting; The Wheelmen will ride their high wheel bicycles around the town. Additionally, we will have two presentations at the Lock One Theater across the street starting at 10AM.
- Lorne Shields (Toronto) will make a presentation about women and cycling as illustrated with photography.
- Carey Williams (Chicago) will make a presentation about velocipedes in America from 1865-1869.
Also we will be hosting a special guests, Mark Weaver and his wife unveiling a new bicycle, the “Project X” that has been custom made for us to display in our “Made in America” exhibit. The builder from Weaver Cycle Works in New Jersey, will be delivering his custom made bicycle the same day.
